Many Opel/Vauxhall engine control units are linked to the immobiliser and the keys. A unit from another vehicle usually does not start the engine until this link has been transferred or adapted. Which route fits depends on the exact unit.
How to identify your unit
The label shows the manufacturer and type – for example Siemens Simtec, Bosch ME/EDC or Delphi/Delco – and the part number. Please send us a clear photo of the label together with the vehicle details.
Diagnosis
We do not use the Opel manufacturer systems Tech2 or TIS2000. For the preliminary assessment, a fault-code report from a multi-brand diagnostic tool or from your workshop is sufficient.
