We have been working on vehicle electronics in the Hardegsen workshop (Lower Saxony, Germany) since 1978. Which ECUs do we clone?

Engine ECU (Motronic, MED, MD1, EDC)

Original data 1:1 onto a matching replacement unit. Immobiliser preserved. All popular Bosch / Continental / Siemens platforms.

Transmission ECU (EGS, TCM, Mechatronic)

Mercedes 722.9, ZF 6HP/8HP, VW DSG DQ250/DQ200/DQ500. Adaptation values transferred or reset cleanly.

BMW CAS (1/2/3/3+/4)

Service clone with backend authentication, key data transferred, vehicle remains startable without re-coding the key.

Mercedes EIS / EZS

Steering lock control unit cloned including FBS coupling. Especially common after EZS failure on W203, W211, W639, W906.

Airbag / SRS control units

Crash data cleared, virgin condition restored. Cost-effective alternative to replacement after an accident.

Instrument cluster / odometer

Forensic mileage documentation; original mileage retained. Legal handling per §22b StVG.

How the send-in service works

  1. Submit your inquiry

    Send us the vehicle, the ECU type and the failure pattern via WhatsApp or our form. We assess feasibility and quote a fixed price — usually within one working day.

  2. Ship the control unit

    Remove the ECU, pack it safely and send it by parcel. We can provide a shipping label. Important: no loose connectors, anti-static packaging recommended.

  3. Diagnosis and cloning

    Once received, we run a full diagnosis. Backup of the original data, transfer onto a replacement unit or repair. All data regions are verified before return.

  4. Validation and report

    The cloned ECU is checked for readability, VIN binding and data completeness. You receive a written report with every step.

  5. Insured return shipment

    Insured return via DHL — return shipping included. Installation notes and warranty document are part of the package.

Frequently asked questions

Does cloning keep my immobiliser intact?

Yes — that is precisely the advantage of cloning over replacing. The original VIN binding, immobiliser keys and SCN coding are transferred 1:1. Your existing keys keep working. No re-coding at a dealership is required.

Is ECU cloning legal?

Yes. Cloning is a workshop technique that transfers your existing licensed data onto identical replacement hardware. Mileage from the instrument cluster is handled in accordance with §22b StVG and documented. We do not perform any odometer manipulation.

How long does the service take?

Typical turnaround is 2–4 working days from arrival of the parcel. We confirm receipt the same day, run the diagnosis the next working day, and ship the result with an insured DHL return label.

What does it cost?

We quote a fixed price before any work starts — based on ECU type, brand and complexity. Engine control units typically start at the level of a standard repair, transmission units and CAS/EIS modules sit slightly higher. Return shipping and the written report are always included.

Do I need to send a working donor unit?

Not always. For many platforms we can supply a tested matching replacement. If you have your own donor, we use it. Either way the inquiry process clarifies this within one working day.
