BMW reports "key not recognised" or fails to start although the key is present. Often: CAS transponder read error or data loss in the CAS due to a voltage drop.
Starter turns, engine fails to start — immobiliser stays active. Typical CAS/ISN synchronisation issue, especially after a control unit swap.
Footwell moisture reaches the CAS electronics. Often not visible from the outside; the original BMW diagnostic system shows communication errors in the CAS protocol. Cloning possible if the chip remains readable.
After an accident, airbag deployment or a theft attempt: CAS damaged or blocked. We clone onto a replacement CAS if the data set is still readable.
